Live ya life (a dedication to celebrities)

All I see
are people living in misery
people losing hope
people finding hard to cope
with the world in which
we live today.
the world that has abandoned the people
and left them as cast aways.

People
as rich as can be...
living in the mansions
trying to be glamorous and fancy.
Diamond rings...
and poppin champagne...
contemplating
out of their millions of outfits...
"What should I wear today."

But do they dare look
past their clean cut grass...
do they look past their suburbia
to find that outside their gates...
there is no utopia.
We have gangs running
around in our streets.
We have hungry families
begging for something to eat.
We have hard working families
that have no clothes...
because all they can do
is keep their children out of the cold...
with a roof over their heads
and shoes on their feet...
but food in their bellies...
making sure there is
always a place to live and to eat.

There is no utopia outside of their walls...
they need to get in their benzes and take a stroll
to neighborhoods that look so grim
and give back to those who have given
them their millions...
from watching movies...
and buying their cds...
these rich folk would not dare
to even step foot in our cities...

So to all those who have the riches
think of how you got there
it was each of us poor folk
that had a little money to spare...
to buy that cd
to relieve our stress for a day
or to go on a date
and see your movie
and your plays.
So like you say with out even a word
You dare not give to the helpless
you write a check to nowhere
and think that is something that help...
but you have no idea
that that money is kept
on another rich mans steps.

So here I stand
a middle class man
saying to you
that there in this world of mine
is a lot of strife...
but Im gonna continue to do me
and survive
while you live ya rich life

  1. I agree on some levels. I think that celebs should appreciate their fans, but I can't be mad at them for rejoicing in their success. It's ok to be a little selfish sometimes as long as those successful celebrities don't forget about those who helped them get to where they're at in the first place.

And I doubt any celebrity is oblivious to the fact that it's not a utopia outside of their walls (well, with the exception of Paris Hilton). Some try to give back, while others just don't seem to care..
